My family photography sessions in Nottingham give you the chance to slow down, reconnect, and capture those precious moments in beautiful, timeless portraits. Whether you’re celebrating a new arrival, a birthday, or just want to freeze this moment in your life, I’ll help you create relaxed, beautiful portraits to treasure forever.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT IN MY NOTTINGHAM STUDIO
My studio photography sessions are designed to be fun, relaxed, and child-friendly. There’s no pressure to sit still or “smile nicely”. I’ll gently guide you to interact naturally as a family, whether that means cuddles on the backdrop, giggles between siblings, or a big family bear hug.
Sessions last around 45–60 minutes, with plenty of time for everyone to settle in and enjoy the experience. We’ll create a mix of classic posed portraits and natural family moments. Suitable for all ages — from tiny newborns to grandparents. And of course, your four-legged family members are welcome too. I do offer specialist dog portraits, if you want the session to be focused on your pup, but I particularly love it when families choose to bring their dogs with them. I’m a dog person, and if you are too, then we’re bound to be friends!

The studio is realy well equipped with soft, flattering lighting and neutral backdrops that keep the focus where it belongs — on you. I offer a choice of backgrounds to suit your style, whether you’re after clean and modern or warm and timeless. You’re welcome to bring an outfit change for variety, too.

Based in Nottingham, my studio is easily accessible from West Bridgford, Beeston, Arnold, and surrounding Nottinghamshire towns. There’s free parking and a warm welcome waiting for you when you arrive.

What should we wear for our family photography session?
This depends on what you have in mind for your finished images, If you prefer the lighter backgrounds and a modern look, then light colours, creams, beiges or pastel colours, look beautiful and timeless. Avoid busy patterns and big logos – we want the focus to be on you!
If you prefer a darker more traditional feel, then choose darker colours, browns, navy, burgundy all look gorgeous. And choose something that is timeless in style so your images don’t date too quickly!
Can I bring my dog to the photo shoot?
Absolutely! I love dogs and feel very strongly that they are a big part of the family. Just let me know if you are bringing your dog(s) so I can prepare the studio to be pup-friendly!
How many people can be in my photos?
I love to meet your family, but we are a little limited by the space available. I can easily get 10 people into my studio, so if you have a big family, or want to bring grandparents, then please do. If you have more people you want to include, then get in touch anyway. If there isn’t enough space in my studio, we can plan a location shoot somewhere else instead.
